The management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who chose the University of Benin as their First Choice Institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry candidates seeking admission into the university's undergraduate programmes. The screening exercise is scheduled to hold between Monday, July 27, 2026 and Saturday, August 1, 2026 at designated centres within the Ugbowo Campus of the University.
UNIBEN Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission
To be eligible for the admission screening exercise, candidates must have scored 200 and above in the 2026 UTME.

Candidates who score below the prescribed cut-off mark will not be considered for the screening exercise. However, admission into highly competitive programmes such as Medicine, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Engineering may require significantly higher scores.
Eligibility Requirements

Obtain a minimum UTME score of 200.

Possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates
Direct Entry candidates are also eligible to participate in the screening exercise provided they:

Possess acceptable qualifications such as ND, NCE, HND, IJMB, JUPEB, A-Level certificates, or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.

Registration Period
The online registration portal will be open as follows:
Opening Date: Friday, June 5, 2026
Closing Date: Friday, July 3, 2026
Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid last-minute challenges.
Screening Method
The admission screening exercise will be conducted using the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Candidates are expected to print their screening invitation slips and check the university portal from Friday, July 17, 2026 for their specific screening date, venue, and time.
Registration Fee
Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000, excluding bank and portal charges. Payment should be made through the approved university payment platform.

Important Notice
Candidates are expected to arrive at their screening venue at least one hour before the scheduled time. Mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the examination hall.
