The management of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State, has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking Admission into the university's undergraduate programmes.

Applications are invited from candidates who selected UNIPORT as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and meet the prescribed admission requirements. Direct Entry candidates are also eligible to participate in the screening exercise.

UNIPORT Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

The University of Port Harcourt has approved a minimum UTME score of 160 for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session. Only candidates who scored 160 and above in the 2026 UTME are eligible to register for the Post-UTME screening exercise.

Candidates applying for highly competitive programmes such as Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Law, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Engineering are advised to obtain significantly higher scores to improve their admission chances.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:

• Choose the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) as their First Choice Institution.

• Score a minimum of 160 in the 2026 UTME.

• Be at least sixteen (16) years old by September 30, 2026.

• Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant subjects.

• Upload their O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal.

• Meet all departmental admission requirements.

Candidates who chose UNIPORT as a second-choice institution must first process a Change of Institution through JAMB before they can be considered for admission.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

• Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

• A-Level Certificates

• First Degree or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.
