Data Management NECO Syllabus
Below is the 2026 NECO Data Management Syllabus for both internal and external candidates.
Aims and Objectives
The syllabus is designed to enable candidates to:

acquire knowledge of data management concepts and practices.

understand the processes involved in collecting, organizing, storing, and retrieving data.

develop practical skills in handling and managing information effectively.
-
understand the role of databases and information systems in organizations.
-
appreciate the importance of data security, privacy, and integrity.

develop analytical and problem-solving skills through data management activities.

understand modern technologies used in data management.

prepare for further studies and careers in information management and technology.
Scheme of Examination
There will be two papers, Paper I and Paper II, both of which must be taken.
Paper I
Will consist of fifty multiple-choice objective questions covering all aspects of the syllabus.
Duration: 1 hour
Marks: 50
Paper II
Will consist of essay, structured, and practical-related questions.
Candidates will be required to answer questions from different sections of the syllabus.
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Marks: 100
